Studio Hallihan is a multifaceted design practice focused on delivering bespoke, functional built form solutions of enduring beauty and purpose. We recognise that built structures are interactive, tactile and emotive and understand the capacity of considered design to influence both how we use a space and how we feel within it. We prioritise the design of the interior architectural form, where master planning, framed views, materiality and a refined response to detail enhance liveability and shape our projects from the inside out. Our work embodies the present but is built for longevity and to patina into tomorrow.
Services
The studio has extensive experience across the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors. Our services cover all stages of design from new builds to major structural renovations and retail fitouts. We manage the design and build from Master Planning, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender and Construction through to the final Construction Administration and along with Soft Furnishings Curation and Procurement.
We draw on established relationships and collaboration with various consultants; architects, engineers, landscape designers, trades and makers to create custom, enriching interiors that embrace technical and unexpected detailing. Our projects are a commitment to enthusiastic and transparent collaboration between client and all design consultants to produce cohesive built forms, harmonious with their environment.
Our studio approaches each project with an appreciation of the extent of our client’s investment and works to achieve quality, timeless and feasible design outcomes that both reflect and re-imagine the brief.

With time there is a greater understanding and appreciation of our surroundings. Our built environment has an underlying force on a person’s routine, interactions and how they feel within a space and has the ability to elevate our everyday existence; this guiding principle underpins Tanya’s holistic approach to design.
With over 20 years in the industry, Tanya gained invaluable experience at various leading Australian design practices predominantly in hotel design and boutique residential, prior to establishing the studio in 2011.
A mother of 3 young boys, Tanya has an innate understanding of what is required to deliver an enduring home that functions, adapts and nurture’s family life; with design that prioritises space for retreat, everyday routine and celebration. Tanya’s strong technical knowledge of layered materiality, lighting solutions and bespoke fabrication imprint strength to her rigorous spatial planning and built form exploration.
Each project is viewed as a privilege to create spaces of beauty, longevity and purpose for our client.
